India’s Urban Heat Wave: Cities Sweat & Cool With Green Roofs

India’s Urban Heat Wave: Cities Sweat & Cool With Green Roofs Okay, here goes:

Seriously? Looking out from any major Indian city feels less like stepping onto solid ground and more like walking through a thick, shimmering heat haze. Places like Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai – they're just baking themselves under the relentless sun.

You can practically feel your pores drying up trying to pull oxygen from an atmosphere that's turned into a sauna. It’s intense out there, no doubt about it. Forget enjoying the evening breeze; if you leave your air-conditioned bubble at home, sunset is basically another word for "still dangerously hot." And honestly? This feels fundamentally broken. We're building these cities expecting them to withstand all kinds of stress – pollution, traffic, whatever – but we seem to have forgotten how crucial it is that they *breathe*.

Seriously though, why the concrete obsession? I mean, asphalt everywhere and glass towers packed cheek-to-cheek. What’s even worse is how this forgetfulness seems baked into the very blueprint of these places. It feels like a design flaw written huge in stone... or maybe just cemented onto every surface.
