Tianjin Elementary teachers with Maple Leaf Schools; Contribute to integrate Chinese and Western style educational philosophies and to provide an immersive English education which has a balanced focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, while actively creating and developing a fun and positive learning environment for the students
Enhance the ESL program by providing additional or supplemental materials; implement
ESL course overviews and/ or the school provided textbooks and teaching materials;
use a variety of teaching strategies/learning activities and student assessment
methods; develop detailed lesson plans; and provide quality instruction to students.
Manage the classroom effectively; maintain good student discipline; support the discipline standards and rules of the School;
Respect the values, cultural differences and expectations of the parents and Chinese leaders, teachers and staff members.
Contribute to the School’s extra-curricular program; Participate in Maple Leaf marketing and student recruitment activities as requested; Participate in professional development activities.
Accept evaluation from the ESL Director and the School Principal during the school year.
Be flexible in meeting the School’s changing requirements as conditions may dictate over time.
Be a role model and demonstrate high moral standards for students at all times.
Conduct himself/herself appropriately both professionally and personally at the School and within the community.
Comply with the School’s expectations regarding professional appearance, hygiene and dress.
Abide by the Chinese laws and local cultural standards of decency and appropriateness
 
Job Duties
Teaching a maximum of 25 class periods per week
Organizing at least one English club per week each semester
Supervising students as required by the school, including morning reading sessions, tutorial sessions and during school activities or events.
Assigning and correcting homework, preparing and correcting quizzes, tests for the students.
Participating in the school activities including weekly flag raising ceremonies, special opening ceremonies, proofreading of English letters or documents, serving as a judge
for English contests, cooperating in receiving visitors, and attending occasional specialweekend ceremonies, as required by the School.
Providing demonstration classes for prospective parents/students to observe, participating in video presentations created for marketing purposes, and other related activities as required.
Coordinating with the Chinese bilingual teacher and homeroom teacher for students’ learning and management
 
Requirements
Aged from 25 to 58
Bachelor degree required
At least 2 years full-time relative teaching experiences
TEFL certificate 120 hours plus preferred
Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland or
South Africa
Clean criminal record check
Personal Professional, enthusiastic, friendly and hard working
Attributes Must be a team player, willing to help and be flexible
Fluency in oral and written English
Comfortable with computers for school related purpose such as MS Office programs
Flexible in adapting a multi-cultural environment with school community members of many nationalities
