Beijing - The best China Legislature on Friday voted to adopt a new law on personal information protection, which will take effect on November 1.

The legislators approved the law at the closing meeting of a regular legislative session of the Standing Committee of the National Popular Congress, which began on Tuesday.

By pressing the information and business marketing to people through automated decision making, personal information processors must provide options that do not address personal characteristics at the same time, or offer forms of Rejection, says the law.

It is stipulated that individual consent must be obtained by processing confidential personal information, such as biometrics, doctors and health, financial accounts and whereabouts.

The law also requires suspension or termination of services for applications that illegally process personal data.
