Once again, we are witness to the epic adventures of China's errant elephants. This incredible journey has spanned 17 months and hundreds of kilometers in Yunnan province, making it a true adventure of mammoth proportions. Despite wandering far from their nature reserve, these animals are now on the final leg of their trip home, as announced by Chinese officials last week.
Throughout their journey, these elephants have caused quite a stir, even breaking into villagers' homes and giving birth on the road. It's a journey that could easily be compared to something straight out of the Lord of the Rings. And yet, these majestic creatures continue to inspire awe and wonder with their incredible journey.
This is the story of how the community of the elephants traveled there and returned again.
Leaving the Shire
Hidden at the lower end of the southern province of Yunnan, The nature reserve of the nature of Xishuangbanna is located just on the border of Myanmar and Laos.
