The local Qingdao cuisine is know as Shandong cuisine (The provincial name) and was often the choice of cuisine by the emperors and high ranking governments in Beijing for thousands of years.
The Qingdao cuisine is rich in local seafood, with delicate (non-spicy) aromas and pure flavour. The local delicacy is Sauteed clams with red or green chili "Ga la" in Chinese and is a must if you're visiting the city.
