Suzhou Travel and Tourism Guide

Suzhou, boasting a whopping population of over 10 million residents, finds itself snugly nestled within the Yangtze river delta. Bordering Shanghai on its right flank, the river mouth majestically sweeping north-eastward, and the fabled Tai Lake lying serenely to the west, this ancient city is practically engulfed by water - a geographical quirk that has spawned an embarrassment of riches in terms of picturesque locales, canal-side vistas, and lush parks sprinkled throughout its urban tapestry. And one cannot help but be drawn into Suzhou's mesmerizing charm, where water seems to whisper secrets to the city dwellers. Moreover, the symphony of canals, rivers, and lakes has crafted a unique cultural identity that resonates deeply with the locals.

The hill is so named because it is said to look like a crouching tiger. Another legend states that a white tiger appeared on the hill to guard it following the burial of King Hél? of Wu (??). The hill has been a tourist destination for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, as is evident from the poetry and calligraphy carved into rocks on the hill.
