Job Description
Maggio Multicultural Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced U.S. or Canadian citizen to serve as an Independent Contractor for teaching 1st and 2nd grade literacy. This year long, contract based role is ideal for educators with a strong foundation in early literacy instruction and a flexible, student centered approach. Instruction will take place on site in the Dominican Republic.
Job Qualifications
Teaching degree in Education
Experience in the classroom
Ability to use technology with ease is a MUST
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to work well and collaborate with others
Positive mindset and the willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure student success
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen
Minimum 2 years of experience teaching at the high school level
Strong understanding of high school planning and teaching development
Culturally responsive teaching practices and enthusiasm for diverse learners

Maggio Multicultural Academy MMA was organized as a private school in the Dominican Republic in 2016. It began to serve the need to provide a quality educational option for the families living in the Punta Cana B varo area as an English Immersion school, as well as support the underserved children in the community. Since then, the school has evolved and has become a hybrid program, where we provide virtual independent learning to students around the world, as well as facilitated learning in a single location or educational pods. We provide the option of a predominantly individualized independent study program from home with the benefits of local support in certain areas. MMA believes that students learn best when taught how to learn instead of what to learn so that they can facilitate their own learning in their specific learning style. Job Benefits:
Salary: 1,250 to 1,500 per month based on experience
Housing: Shared housing will be provided Note: you will have your own room and bathroom
Contract Duration: The service contract is for 10 12 months.
Flight Allowance: Flight allowances up to 1000 USD will be provided for arrival and departure flights. The flight allowance for the beginning of the contract will be reimbursed in December.
Transportation: Transportation to and from the school will be provided
Uniforms: Three school uniforms will be provided
Medical Insurance: Medical insurance is included
Additional Information:
You will be responsible for paying electric, cell phone, water, and food. This can range depending on whether you like to go out a lot and or keep lights and A C on regularly.
