Changchun Normal University (CCNU) invites applications for short-term instructors to teach one or more undergraduate course in Early Childhood Education (listed below) for 8 weeks in Fall semester 2019 (September-October, or October - November). CCNU also welcomes applications for short-term instructors in Spring/Summer semester 2020 in the same fields. Candidates will be working in Changchun, Jilin Province, northeast China, in an International Program with a US university.

Course List:

1. Infants and Toddlers Curriculum and Assessment –

The focus of this course will be on the growth and development of the whole child in the context of the family from conception through age 3. The major themes that will be investigated include the importance of relationships and attachment between infants and adult caregivers; the role of play in cognition and language development; developmentally appropriate assessment; and the components of high-quality nurturing care for infants and toddlers. In addition, participants will enhance their knowledge of family and community relationships strategies to promote positive development and learning, discussed with special emphasis on the teacher as an introspective and interactive decision maker in the learning environment. Recognition will be given to the notion that children are best understood and served in the context of their family, culture and society. Fieldwork is required in an early childhood setting.

2. Pre-K Curriculum and Assessment –

Developmentally appropriate integrated learning experiences for prekindergarten children are selected, planned, implemented and evaluated. Learning environments are planned to meet the individual needs of young children. A variety of preschool curriculum models and assessment protocols are presented and analyzed. Opportunities for creating developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children in a variety of group settings are provided. Fieldwork is required in an early childhood setting.Software Testing – Overview of software testing basics, Quality requirements for software testing, Automated test technology, White and Black box testing techniques, Test case design methodology, System test and system test training, Practical techniques for acceptance testing.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, or other related education field is required for undergraduate instruction.

• Fluent in both written and spoken English. English native speaker is preferred;

• Patient and enthusiastic for teaching with high sense of responsibility;

• More than 3 years’ teaching or training experience is preferred;

• Understanding American higher education system, test methods and requirements.
