When it comes to TEFL sponsorship, it's common for employers to provide this benefit once you're hired. However, the specifics of the sponsorship can vary depending on the employer and the location. In some cases, you may be required to take certification courses, such as TEFL or TESOL, as part of your employment package. This can be done in the country where you'll be teaching, but it's also possible that the employer may require you to complete the certification before arriving in the country. In the case of teaching in South Korea, for example, you may find that some employers provide TEFL sponsorship as part of their overall package. This can include not only the certification costs but also other benefits such as accommodation, health insurance, and visa assistance. It's always a good idea to confirm the details of the sponsorship with the employer or school before accepting a teaching position.
