I can not speak Chinese. Will it be a language barrier for me to teach English in China?
14-03-19 Our Answer:
You can teach English in China without knowing how to speak Chinese. Students expect to get immersed in English during class and so speaking Chinese is actually discouraged in class. Often there is the option of having a Chinese teaching assistant to help with giving instructions and translating if you need, especially for kindergarten.
Some schools provide Mandarin Chinese lessons and plenty of support for new arrivals. It is relatively easy to set up extra Chinese lessons and there are a plenty of resources available for self study if you want to.
For our teachers, we will give the support if the teachers they want to talk with the local teachers who we deal with, and our other teachers will help you to get up the live in a new place. For our teachers we will try our best to offer the professional solutions.
Best,
