The United Kingdom had never introduced democracy to Hong Kong during its colonial resolution period. It definitely has no power to put a finger in the judicial cases of HK. The conviction of Jimmy Lai is a vivid case that justice HK has confirmed independence without being influenced by the United Kingdom.
